Leveraging Emotional Intelligence and Workstyle Differences to Build Effective Relationships
Gio Group helps clients increase their personal effectiveness and build collaborative and productive workplace relationships. We do this through a variety of Professional Development programs. These programs aim to teach individuals how to balance technical competence and interpersonal skills so they can work together with maximum efficiency and productivity.
Workplace success goes beyond technical competence. Being emotionally intelligent is just as important as having strong legal, financial or technical skills. Equally important are strong interpersonal skills such as initiative, resilience, self-control, adaptability, self awareness, persuasiveness and empathy. How we manage ourselves and interact with others in workplace situations can enhance or derail our careers and our success.
Our work includes assessing individuals' skills, identifying areas for beneficial change and providing tools that increase effectiveness. Our clients obtain a clearer understanding of their interpersonal strengths and challenges, differences in work styles both within their organization and with clients and guidance on ways to capitalize on the collective strength of its members. We help clients to achieve greater personal workplace satisfaction and to build productive relationships through consulting and training, as well as through individual and group coaching.
Aligning Generations™
Today's workplace is vastly different from any in the past with new hires in their early 20s working side by side with colleagues as much as 50 years older. In fact, four generations are simultaneously at work – each providing a distinct set of talents, abilities, strengths and weaknesses. The challenge is to leverage the strengths of each generation: Taking advantage of the professionalism and strong work ethic of Traditionalists (born between 1922 and 1943), the networking skills and future orientation of Baby Boomers (1943-1960), the entrepreneurial instincts and adaptability to change of Generation X (1960-1980), and the technological savvy and enjoyment of teamwork of Millennials (1980-2000).
Gio Group's Aligning Generations™ engagements, which can be offered in half-day, full-day and personalized coaching segments, helps members of these generations to understand each other and to meld their strengths and work collaboratively. Aligning Generations™ also teaches strategies for leading and retaining each generation.
Communication and Presentation Skills
How do you want to be perceived? How do you ensure the messages you convey to others are effective and motivate people to act on your requests? How does your nonverbal communication convey confidence and build credibility? How effectively do you run meetings and deliver presentations?
The key to answering all these questions positively is developing effective communications skills – skills that can build collaborative relationships and motivate people to act on your requests. Skilled communicators leverage their natural style and their words to make an emotional connection with their listeners. Skilled communicators organize and deliver key messages that convey value, strengthen relationships and ensure their verbal and non-verbal communications are consistent.
Gio Group helps clients use their personal communication and presentation skills to maximum effect. This help takes on various forms, depending on needs. Gio Group's services include half- and full-day workshops and personalized communications coaching that include video taping.
Participants learn how to:
- Convey confidence and authority
- Use eye contact, posture and voice to convey credibility
- Diffuse nervous energy
- Formulate and deliver messages that are clear and concise
- Make an emotional connection with their listener(s)
